The Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) held a meeting with Dr Kristiina Silvan from the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA). The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on current trends in international affairs, regional security dynamics, and prospects for strengthening expert and academic cooperation between research institutions.

During the discussion, the sides addressed issues related to Central Asia’s evolving role in international politics, the foreign policy priorities of Nordic countries, and the growing importance of interregional dialogue in the context of global geopolitical transformations. Particular attention was given to opportunities for developing cooperation between IAIS and Finnish analytical institutions through joint research, expert consultations, academic exchanges, and participation in future events.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in maintaining professional dialogue and exploring practical formats of cooperation. IAIS reaffirmed its commitment to expanding international expert engagement and strengthening ties with leading research centres in Europe and beyond.
