Open lecture by Tim Potier on "Current challenges and opportunities for International Law"

Tim Potier is a Senior Fellow in the Center for International Law and Governance at The Fletcher School. Tim has been living in and working on the countries of the former Soviet Union for the past 30 years. He was a member of the International Law Department at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs for five years until 2022. He has recently finished writing a book titled International Law at a Crossroads, which is the first in a series of three books examining the establishment both of rule of law societies and, according to his definition, an international community. He is currently working on two other monographs: the second revised edition of his earlier book on the conflicts in the South Caucasus, titled Conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia and South Ossetia: A Legal Appraisal, and a book on Roman Succession Law. Besides international law and Roman law, he is also a specialist on legal theory.
