On October 11, Aziza Mukhammedova took part in an academic online seminar on Competition and Cooperation between the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Central Asia. The event was co-hosted by the Center for Geopolitical Studies of Central Asia at Xinjiang University and Shihezi University.

The seminar gathered scholars to examine Central Asia’s evolving role at the crossroads of Eurasia and to discuss how two major regional formats can complement each other. The agenda focused on safeguarding national interests amid great-power competition, practical avenues for cooperation on Afghanistan, pathways to regional economic integration, trends in the transformation of the regional order, as well as connectivity, energy, and humanitarian linkages.

In her remarks, Ms. Mukhammedova outlined perspectives on aligning transport and logistics corridors, advancing green initiatives and digital platforms, and strengthening project-based collaboration among member states. She underscored the value of evidence-driven dialogue and steady institutional coordination to translate political commitments into practical results for the region.
