On August 18, Aziza Mukhammedova, Leading Research Fellow at the Center for Afghanistan and South Asian Studies, participated in the virtual dialogue “Women, Peace & Security: Inclusion in the Muslim World – Regional Perspectives” with female colleagues from universities in Islamabad and Peshawar, women leaders from Pakistan’s research institutions such as the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), professors from Al-Azhar University in Egypt, as well as representatives of Afghan women working in the field of education. This diverse participation reflected the goal of combining regional perspectives and academic expertise within one platform.
Throughout the dialogue, participants discussed national and regional experiences, highlighting practical lessons that could be applied across different societies. The exchange focused on identifying approaches for enhancing collaboration among academic institutions, civil society organizations, and policy experts, with the objective of fostering mutual understanding and building constructive dialogue. Presentations emphasized the value of knowledge-sharing and the role of regional partnerships in developing sustainable initiatives.
Aziza Mukhammedova’s participation in the event provided an opportunity to contribute to these discussions and to reflect on Uzbekistan’s perspective within the broader regional dialogue.
