The delegation of the IAIS Centre for Energy Diplomacy and Geopolitics participated in a World Bank seminar in Oslo, Norway, from 23 to 27 September 2024 as part of a project aimed at developing the regional electricity market in Central Asia.

The seminar’s primary objective was to acquire practical knowledge based on the experiences of existing regional electricity markets, such as European and Southern African examples. Participants explored mechanisms for integrating renewable energy sources and ensuring the flexibility of energy systems, which are key to enhancing the resilience of energy infrastructure. Special attention was given to the potential application of these approaches within the context of Central Asia, opening up prospects for further integration and modernisation of energy systems.

The seminar served as an important platform for exchanging experiences and developing solutions aimed at strengthening cooperation and promoting the sustainable development of the regional energy market.
