On September 15, the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held a meeting with Fulbright Visiting Scholar Kenneth Holland, Adjunct Professor of Political Science at the University of Utah.
The meeting was attended by Akram Umarov, Director of IAIS; Ulugbek Ishankhodjaev, Head of the Center for American Studies; and Shakhzoda Jumaniyazova, Senior Research Fellow. Representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, Anna Balogh and Mukhlisa Rasulova, were also present.
Participants highlighted the importance of such engagements in strengthening academic and expert ties, as well as in deepening mutual understanding between the scholarly communities of the two countries. The meeting served as an important platform for discussing the key areas of activity of the University and IAIS, as well as the prospects for developing the Center for American Studies. Special attention was given to issues of academic cooperation, joint research initiatives, and the organization of events aimed at fostering exchange between Uzbek and international experts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to continuing dialogue and enhancing expert collaboration in the field of international studies, emphasizing that the Fulbright Program offers broad opportunities for expanding scholarly cooperation and professional exchange.
