On April 10, 2024, Södertörn University in Sweden organized an international conference on the topic "The Social and Political Transformation in Central Asian States". The event was attended by Akram Umarov, Deputy Director of the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS), and Islomkhon Gafarov, a Senior research fellow.
The international conference was organized by the Center for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES) at Södertörn University in collaboration with the publisher of the scientific journal "Baltic Worlds". The event brought together leading experts and researchers from various countries to discuss current issues in the political and social spheres in Central Asia.
The conference featured two panel discussions that addressed both the regional political and social transformations and emerging global challenges. Islomkhon Gafarov, a Senior research fellow at IAIS, was among the participants in these discussions. He presented his research titled "Uzbekistan's Foreign Policy in Central Asia: Shift from Realism to Constructivism?"
Additionally, Akram Umarov, the Deputy Director of IAIS, contributed to the conference. He actively engaged in the final discussion and shared his viewpoints on political and social transformations in Central Asia.
This conference provided a significant platform for the participants to share their views and experiences, thus enhancing the scientific dialogue surrounding the study of Central Asia.
