On 12 March, IAIS Director Professor Sherzod Abdullayev and UWED Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Dr Gulnoza Ismailova met with Igor Pavlovsky, Editor-in-Chief of Delovoy Peterburg magazine, and Boris Kuznetsov, Director of the Centre for International and Regional Policy Foundation.

During the conversation, representatives of the Uzbek side presented in detail the activities of IAIS and UWED, while their Russian colleagues described the areas of work of their organizations. Special attention was paid to the issues of scientific and business co-operation between the countries.

Boris Kuznetsov reported on the annual youth summer schools organized by his foundation and suggested that UWED and IAIS join this project. He also noted the importance of involving talented young specialists from Uzbekistan, which could contribute to the development of scientific and educational contacts in the region.

Igor Pavlovsky, in turn, emphasized the positive dynamics in business relations between Uzbekistan and St. Petersburg, pointing to the growth of investments in the southern regions of Russia in recent years, which indicates the growing interest of entrepreneurs in this direction.

The sides expressed interest in further development of cooperation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening scientific and business ties between Uzbekistan and Russia.
