A meeting was held at the IAIS with representatives of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”, and the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Foundation, where promising areas for the development of scientific, expert, and educational cooperation were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to opportunities for collaboration within the framework of the Gorchakov Foundation’s annual events. In particular, the discussion focused on the participation of experts, students, and young researchers from Uzbekistan in the Central Asia School. This format is viewed as a platform for expanding professional contacts among young specialists working on Central Asian issues, as well as for exchanging research approaches and the results of scholarly work. The possibility of participating in the Gorchakov Fund’s annual expert event, “Asian Dialogue”, was also discussed separately.

As part of the discussion on cooperation with MGIMO, the prospect of establishing a multilateral cooperation framework involving Russian, Chinese, and Central Asian higher education institutions and research organizations was raised. Such a format could facilitate the development of regular academic and expert dialogue, the organization of joint events, the exchange of researchers and students, and the implementation of joint research projects on pressing regional and international issues.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in further developing contacts and working out specific formats for cooperation in the aforementioned areas.
