On 6 March 2024, the Institute for Advanced International Studies organized a meeting with representatives of the US Central Command at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the US Central Command - Gerik Page, Christy Levengud, and Olena Hein. The Head of the Center for American Studies, Ulugbek Ishankhodjaev, and the center’s staff attended on behalf of the IAIS.

During the meeting, relations between Uzbekistan and the United States, regional security issues, the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as projects related to Central and South Asia were discussed. As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to continue cooperation in the future.
