From 28 to 30 April, Odilbek Manabov took part in the international scientific-practical conference “Security, Geopolitics and Turkic Integration in the Triangle: Central Asia – South Caucasus – Middle East”, held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

The conference brought together experts, researchers and representatives of academic and analytical institutions to discuss current geopolitical dynamics across Central Asia, the South Caucasus and the Middle East. Particular attention was devoted to regional security, transport connectivity, the evolution of Turkic integration, the role of Türkiye in Eurasian affairs, and the growing strategic importance of international transport corridors.

During the discussions, participants exchanged views on the transformation of regional cooperation amid increasing geopolitical uncertainty. The debates addressed the development of the Middle Corridor, the prospects of linking Central Asian and South Caucasus transport routes with broader Eurasian connectivity initiatives, as well as the potential role of Uzbekistan in advancing interregional transport and logistical cooperation.

Special attention was also paid to the changing security environment in Eurasia, including the implications of ongoing conflicts, the role of major external actors, and the need for Central Asian states to strengthen regional coordination, diversify partnerships and enhance strategic resilience.

The participation of an IAIS representative in the conference contributed to the Institute’s continued engagement in international expert dialogue on regional security, sustainable connectivity and evolving geopolitical processes across Central Asia and the wider Eurasian space.
