On July 1 of this year, the Institute for Advanced International Studies organized an online meeting with the leadership of the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA), a think tank based in Nepal. The meeting was attended by Islomkhon Gafarov, a senior research fellow at the Center for Afghanistan and South Asian Studies, and Azizjon Ziyodullayev, a researcher at the Center for Sustainable Development at the IAIS.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the relations between Uzbekistan and Nepal and their prospects. They discussed economic, political, and cultural ties, as well as the connectivity between Central and South Asia.
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to organize a joint online conference on Central and South Asian connectivity in early August. Additionally, the participants decided to collaborate on a scientific article dedicated to Uzbekistan-Nepal relations, to be completed by September.
