On 4 July, Professor Azamat Seitov took part in an international online conference on The Situation in Central Asia and Cooperation in Development, organized by the Institute of International Relations at Xi’an International Studies University (PRC). The conference brought together leading researchers, teachers and representatives of analytical centers interested in studying the dynamics of regional processes and the potential for cooperation between Central Asian countries and external partners.
In his speech, Professor Seitov presented a report on The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as a mechanism for enhancing cultural interconnection between Central Asian countries. He emphasized that the cultural dimension of the SCO plays an important role in building trust and promoting sustainable development in the region. In his opinion, through programs in the fields of education, cultural exchange and humanitarian cooperation, the SCO creates a platform for deepening regional identity and forming a common space for cooperation.
Conference participants highly appreciated Professor Seitov’s analytical approach and noted the relevance of his conclusions in the context of the growing role of cultural diplomacy in regional politics. His proposals to intensify institutional interaction within the SCO to support joint educational and cultural initiatives were of particular interest.
