From 17 to 28 March 2025, Odilbek Manabov, Leading Research Fellow at the IAIS Centre for Sustainable Development, participated in a specialised training on Data Analysis with Power-Bi, Tableau and Advanced Excel in the Public Sector held at the Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management, Ministry of Finance, India.
The main objective of the trip was to enhance knowledge and skills in financial analysis and to learn modern techniques of data processing and visualisation using advanced tools such as Tableau and Power BI. These programmes enable efficient analysis of large volumes of data, which is critical for making informed decisions in government financial and economic policies.
The training programme covered a variety of topics including risk management, project resource management, and a more in-depth look at regression analysis and big data analytics. The participants gained valuable knowledge on the implementation of digital technologies in public financial management processes, which helps to improve transparency and efficiency of decision-making.
Participants also visited the Ministry of Finance of India and the data centre of the Indian Railway Information System, where they discussed approaches to digitalisation and transformation of public services.
On the final day of the training, participants presented projects, demonstrating their new knowledge and proposing innovative ideas for implementation in professional practice. This trip was a valuable step in professional development, broadening horizons in the field of financial analysis and improving the efficiency of public administration.
