Transportation and logistics opportunities of Uzbekistan and China were discussed at IAIS

Tashkent, Uzbekistan – On May 15 this year, the Institute of Advanced International Studies under UWED in cooperation with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Fudan University of the People’s Republic of China organized an online conference on «Current issues of interconnectivity of transport and logistics capabilities of China and Uzbekistan».

During the event, expert circles of Uzbekistan and China discussed such topical issues as prospects and problems of connecting the Middle Corridor, construction of railway networks and the current state of relations between Uzbekistan and China in the field of transport and logistics, opportunities, and challenges of development.

It was found that infrastructure development, supported by the construction of new railroads and highways, contributes to improved interconnectivity between regions and stimulates economic activity, opening up new opportunities for SME development, job creation and investment attraction. The experts also discussed the tourism impact of transportation, as the improvement of transport infrastructure makes travel more accessible and comfortable, which contributes to the growth of tourist flow and strengthening of cultural ties between nations.

In conclusion, it was noted that Uzbekistan and China, as strategic partners, along with the development of economic cooperation, prioritize strengthening transport and logistics relations. Following the event, the parties agreed to continue bilateral cooperation and such scientific discussions on other topics.
