On August 21, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted the first organizational meeting of the authors of the collective monograph “History of Diplomacy of New Uzbekistan (2017-2025)”.

Opening the meeting, UWED Rector Sodyk Safoev noted that this work is a continuation of scientific research in the field of the country's history and diplomacy. The importance of the project lies in the fact that it summarizes the experience of foreign policy development in recent years and presents it in a form accessible to a wide audience.

During the meeting, the authors and editorial and technical team were introduced, and the draft table of contents and preliminary work plan were discussed. It should be noted that the authors of the collective monograph include experienced diplomats and researchers from the Institute for Advanced International Studies: First Vice-Rector of UWED and Director of IAIS Akram Umarov, Head of the Center for American Studies Ulugbek Ishankhodjaev, Head of the Laboratory of Anthropology and Conflict Studies Azamat Seitov, Head of the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies Abbos Bobokhonov, and Leading Research Fellow Rustam Makhmudov.

The participants made suggestions on the structure and thematic content of the future publication, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive approach and the inclusion of various areas of foreign policy. The discussion revealed widespread interest in the project and a willingness to combine the efforts of the scientific community, representatives of government agencies, and research centers to prepare this fundamental work.

At the end of the meeting, the deadlines for further work were set. The monograph is intended to be a significant research work reflecting the main stages of the diplomatic activity of New Uzbekistan and its contribution to the development of international cooperation.
