The Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) invites you to the next session of its Frontier Talks series, featuring Dr Adam R. Hazlett, Visiting Research Fellow at IAIS, Fulbright Specialist and Professor of Humanities at Henry Ford College in Michigan.
The session will explore cinema’s potential to shape international perceptions of Uzbekistan, communicate its cultural heritage and strengthen its presence in global cultural dialogue. The discussion will consider the opportunities and choices facing Uzbekistan as it develops its cinematic soft power. It will invite reflection on how stories, images and representations of the Silk Roads can connect local identities with international audiences, and how filmmaking can contribute to cultural diplomacy.
The seminar will provide a platform for researchers, faculty members and students to exchange perspectives on the relationship between cinema, national identity and international influence.
