IAIS is pleased to announce an upcoming Frontier Talks session featuring Professor Rohan Gunaratna on the theme “The State of Global Terrorism.” The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on the evolving terrorism landscape, the transformation of extremist networks, and the growing security implications of contemporary conflicts across different regions. Bringing together academic and policy perspectives, the discussion will address one of the most urgent and complex challenges shaping the international security agenda today.
The seminar is especially timely as the global threat environment continues to be shaped by ongoing armed conflicts, ideological radicalisation, online mobilisation, and the expanding interaction between terrorism, geopolitical competition, and information insecurity.
Professor Rohan Gunaratna is Professor of Security Studies at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He holds an MA from the University of Notre Dame and a PhD from the University of St Andrews, and has previously served as a Senior Fellow at the Combating Terrorism Center at the United States Military Academy at West Point and at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
