Within the framework of strengthening international academic cooperation and developing expert dialogue, on April 7, the leadership of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and representatives of the Institute for Advanced International Studies met with Dr. Johan Engvall, analyst of the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies, and Dr. Mikael Weissmann, docent and senior lecturer of the Swedish Defence University.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current trends in international interaction, as well as prospects for scientific and analytical co-operation between Uzbekistan and Sweden.
The discussion took place in a constructive atmosphere and covered a wide range of topics, including regional development, interaction within Central Asia and issues of European partnership. Special attention was paid to the exchange of expert assessments of the current international agenda and the role of academic institutions in strengthening the dialogue between the countries.
The importance of continuing academic and research exchanges for the formation of new areas of interstate cooperation was emphasised. The sides expressed interest in continuing joint work and developing sustainable scientific contacts. The meeting was an important step towards deepening international expert co-operation.
