IAIS and the Institute of Oriental Studies of Kazakhstan discussed co-operation in China Studies

On 14 December, IAIS Director Professor Sherzod Abdullayev, Senior Researcher Islomkhon Gafarov and Research Fellow Mushtariy Usmonova met with representatives of the R.B. Suleymanov Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

During the meeting they discussed issues of cooperation and joint research on contemporary processes in China, as well as the impact of Chinese foreign and economic policy on the Central Asian region. Particular attention was paid to the exchange of experience and research methodologies, which will deepen the analytical understanding of the dynamics of China's development and its interaction with neighbouring countries.

 

The sides expressed mutual interest in creating joint projects, organising scientific publications and holding expert seminars aimed at researching regional geopolitics and socio-economic processes in East Asia. It was stressed that combining the efforts of research centres would create a solid basis for academic cooperation and strengthen the scientific presence of both sides in the international arena.

 

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to support regular contacts, exchange information and joint preparation of analytical materials that will contribute to the development of academic potential and strengthening of scientific interaction between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
