IAIS hosted the presentation of the book “Paradoxes of Migration in Tajikistan: Locating the good life”

On May 20, 2024 the presentation of the book “Paradoxes of Migration in Tajikistan: Locating the good life” by Elena Borisova, a researcher at the University of Sussex (Great Britain), took place at the Institute for Advanced International Studies. Akram Umarov, the First Vice–rector for Academic Affairs of UWED - Deputy Director of IAIS opened the event and emphasized the significance of such events, considering the increasing interest among young researchers in Central Asian issues.

During the book presentation, Elena Borisova discussed the social, political, and cultural narratives that influence Tajik migration to neighboring countries. Following the presentation, students and postgraduates from UWED had the opportunity to engage in discussions about migration in Central Asia with the author.
