On October 17, the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a meeting with Andrew D’Anieri, Associate Director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center (United States). IAIS was represented at the meeting by Director Akram Umarov, Deputy Director Odil Gafarov, Head of the Center for American Studies Ulugbek Ishankhodjaev, and Leading Research Fellow Madina Alimova.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current areas of cooperation between IAIS and the Atlantic Council, as well as to exchange views on formats for further cooperation. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing contacts and expanding professional ties between the expert communities of Tashkent and Washington.

The parties also outlined working steps for developing cooperation: holding joint webinars and analytical discussions, preparing brief joint materials, and exchanging expertise for participation in international events. The agreements reflect the focus of the IAIS and the Atlantic Council on practical and long-term partnership.
