On March 7, 2024, the Center for Energy Diplomacy at IAIS convened discussions with Eric Livni, a Leading Regional Economist for Central Asia representing the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The meeting aimed to explore avenues for mutually beneficial collaboration on energy diplomacy and geopolitical matters. Notably, the EBRD has injected over 4.37 billion euros into Uzbekistan's economy across 144 projects, marking the country as the primary beneficiary of the bank's investments in Central Asia for the third consecutive year.
Following fruitful deliberations, both parties resolved to delve deeper into potential areas of cooperation. They also committed to exchanging crucial information, particularly in the realm of energy transition and climate agenda projects, fostering closer ties and advancing shared objectives.
