On September 4, the Institute for Advanced International Studies held a meeting with representatives of the European Union Delegation in Uzbekistan – Political Officer Michaela Zelenanska and Project Manager Jana Kurpisa. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Odil Gafarov, Leading Research Fellows Fazliddin Djamalov and Mushtariy Usmonova, and Associate Research Fellow Dinara Ishbaeva.
During the conversation, the parties discussed general areas that could form the basis for further cooperation. They talked about joint research initiatives, academic exchange, and prospects for participation in international projects aimed at deepening mutual understanding and exchanging experience between research and educational institutions.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for strengthening contacts between expert and analytical centers, as well as prospects for their interaction with European institutions. The parties expressed their willingness to consider various formats of cooperation, including scientific publications, conferences, and educational programs.
The meeting participants also noted the importance of establishing sustainable partnerships that could facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices, as well as the development of new areas of joint work in the long term.
Overall, the parties agreed to maintain regular exchanges of information and continue the dialogue on specific steps that would give practical substance to the cooperation and take it to a new level.
