On April 24, 2024, a productive meeting was held at the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) at UWED. The esteemed delegation from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) was led by Dr. Bates Gill, a renowned expert on Chinese foreign policy.

UWED faculty, including Dr. K. Freeman, leading expert of the China Studies Program, and researcher A. McFarlane, welcomed the USIP delegation. The meeting served as an opportunity to introduce the IPMI's activities and recent accomplishments.

Discussions centered on fostering closer collaboration between the two institutions. Areas of potential collaboration included not only continued research on China but also multifaceted initiatives in the field of American studies.

The dialogue extended to cover current global trends, regional development in Central Asia, and ongoing integration processes within the region. Representatives from USIP expressed particular interest in the regional policy of the People's Republic of China (PRC), the role of the United States in Central Asia, and the challenges and opportunities associated with Central Asian integration.

The meeting concluded with a productive discussion on the prospects for developing joint projects between IAIS and USIP.
