New Horizons of Academic and Expert Co-Operation with Hungary

On 15 April, Dr Akram Umarov, accompanied by colleagues from UWED and IAIS, held a meeting with Dr László Vasa, Chief Advisor and Senior Researcher at the Hungarian Institute of International Relations, Dean of the Doctoral School of Regional and Economic Sciences at István Széchenyi University (Győr, Hungary).

 

The parties discussed the possibilities of expanding bilateral academic partnership, including the implementation of joint research initiatives, exchange of professors and experts, as well as participation in European scholarship and grant programmes. Special attention was paid to projects in the field of public diplomacy, sustainable development and regional studies.

 

Dr Vasa presented the range of educational and research opportunities implemented at leading universities in Hungary, in particular, within the framework of István Széchenyi University and Ludovika National University of Public Service in Budapest. Among the promising formats for co-operation were short academic internships for young researchers, participation in international expert hubs and joint lecture courses and seminars.

 

The expert also expressed interest in developing cooperation with UWED and IAIS within the framework of international research consortia, stressing the willingness of the Hungarian side to facilitate the participation of Uzbek specialists in relevant projects, including the organisation of study tours and expert visits to Hungary.
