Tashkent, Uzbekistan – 20 August 2024. Commencing on 20 August 2024, the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS), in collaboration with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), is hosting a comprehensive five-day leadership training program tailored for leaders and strategic planners of Uzbekistan GTL company.
The program is meticulously designed to cultivate leadership acumen, along with advanced skills in strategic analysis and planning, among professionals in the energy industry. This initiative is crucial for equipping sector specialists with the capabilities needed to adeptly navigate contemporary challenges and to significantly contribute to the sustainable development of their respective organizations. Continuous professional development is essential for middle and senior managers, project leaders, and strategic planners, who bear the responsibility for critical decision-making, effective team management, and successful project execution. The success of their organizations hinges upon their proficiency and insight.
The training program was inaugurated with a speech by Dr. Sodyq Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rector of UWED. Dr. Safoev emphasized the critical importance of training professionals who can advise the government on energy industry matters, particularly during this period of global economic restructuring. He stated, “The energy sector is a vital component of every economy. As the economy expands, so does energy consumption. Therefore, if the economy is growing at a rate of 6% annually, a country must increase its energy production by 6% to maintain that growth. In this process, the role of knowledgeable and well-prepared leaders is crucial”.
Throughout the program, participants will benefit from a series of master classes led by IAIS's foremost experts — Sherzod Abdullaev, Shakhboz Akhmedov, Khayotjon Ibragimov, Ulugbek Ishankhodjaev, and Rustam Makhmudov. These sessions will cover critical domains such as leadership and team management, strategic analysis and planning, enhancing strategic decision-making, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
This training program is anticipated to serve as a pivotal platform for advancing the leadership and strategic planning capabilities of Uzbekistan’s energy sector professionals. By delving into a broad array of critical areas, the program aims to equip participants with the competencies required to address the dynamic challenges of the energy industry. The insights shared by IAIS’s leading specialists are poised to foster sustainable growth and operational success within the companies represented. By the end of the programme, participants will be well-equipped to apply these advanced strategies and knowledge in their professional roles, driving innovation and progress across the energy sector.
