On 10 March, the Institute for Advanced International Studies hosted a meeting of the Institute's management with the delegation of the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW, Poland) headed by Director Wojciech Konończuk. Deputy Director of OSW Justyna Gotkowska, Head of Russian Department Marek Menkiszak, Senior Researcher of Turkey, Caucasus and Central Asia Department Wojciech Górecki, as well as Charge d'Affaires of the Polish Embassy in Uzbekistan Marcin Wakar also took part in the discussion.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues covering key geopolitical developments as well as strategic processes in Central Asia. An important part of the discussion was the discussion of analytical approaches to the study of regional dynamics and possible forms of co-operation between expert and academic circles of both countries.
OSW representatives got acquainted with the Institute's activities, in particular the work of its thematic and regional centres. In turn, the Polish side presented the research areas of the Centre for Eastern Studies.
The talks were held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. The participants noted the importance of maintaining a regular expert dialogue and expressed their willingness to further develop bilateral cooperation in the field of analytical research and exchange of expert assessments.
