Biography

Lutfiddin Khodjaev is an orientalist, philologist, diplomat with many years of experience, and an expert on the Middle East. He graduated from the Oriental Faculty of Tashkent State University and speaks five languages, including Arabic, Persian, and English. Since the 1980s, he has held key diplomatic posts in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and has also headed departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan responsible for cooperation with countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He currently heads a department at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is the author of a monograph and more than 20 articles on Islamic culture and international relations, published in Arabic, among other languages.

 

Fluent in Uzbek, Tajik, Russian, Arabic, Persian, and English.
