Biography

Dr. Rovshan Alimov holds a DSc degree in Political Sciences, professor, recognised as one of Uzbekistan’s leading experts in international relations and strategic studies.

Throughout his professional career, he has held a number of senior positions within the state and academic institutions of Uzbekistan, including at the Office of the National Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers.

From 2019 to 2024, he served as Counsellor and Representative at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations. He also worked as Adviser on Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Currently, he serves as Head of the Department for Diplomatic Personnel Retraining at the Diplomatic Academy under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Head of the Center for Afghanistan and Soth Asian Studies at IAIS.

Professor Alimov is the author of three monographs, more than ten academic books and teaching manuals, as well as around seventy scholarly articles published in Uzbekistan and abroad.
