In the next edition of the International View programme on Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, Fazliddin Djamalov analysed the recent meeting of Russian and US foreign ministers in Riyadh, noting its importance in the context of global geopolitical tensions. In his opinion, the talks between Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio demonstrate the pragmatism of both sides. The central topics of discussion were the conflict in Ukraine, the Middle East crisis and issues of strategic stability, reflecting the priorities of Washington and Moscow.

 

The impact of these talks on Central Asia, according to the expert, lies in the continued maneuvering of the region’s countries between the world’s centers of power. At the same time, increased US diplomatic activity in the region, as well as Russia’s interest in strengthening its influence through economic initiatives, create both challenges and new opportunities for the countries of the region.
