The Institute for Advanced International Studies, in collaboration with the Centre for Central Asian Studies at the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, invites all interested parties to participate in an online conference on Central Asia in the Context of Global Turbulence: Opportunities, Challenges and Prospects, which will take place on 18 June at 11:30 AM Tashkent time. The event will serve as a platform for constructive discussion of key challenges and new vectors of development in the region in the context of global political and economic changes.
During the conference, attendees will hear presentations from leading experts from both organizations. They will analyze Russia’s role in the energy sector in Central Asia and identify the main growth points and risks for the near future, as well as offer an overview of problem areas and opportunities for the development of the fuel and energy complex in the countries of the region, drawing on the experience of the Eurasian space.
Particular attention will be paid to the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Chinese relations in the humanitarian sphere and the current state of Chinese studies in Uzbekistan, after which experts will analyze the foreign policy of the United States and Russia in Central Asia, focusing on key strategic priorities and new geopolitical trends.
